I was emailing back and forth with a customer today about some pouches and the MOLLE vs belt pouch dilemma. Many of my pouches are only currently available in MOLLE versions and many folks these days still don’t use the MOLLE system.
Uses two rows of PALs webbing for the ALICE clips
At the recent GCO Vendor Day, I had the chance to speak to hunters, and guys that just carry every day, no tactical gear required. These folks have no use for MOLLE based products, and wanted pouches with belt loops. Now I do plan to offer belt loop versions of some of the pouches, but did you know you can make belt mounted pouches from MOLLE pouches if you use MALICE or ALICE clips?
Here is one of my large stripper clip pouches, belt mounted with ALICE clips.
MOLLE pouch + ALICE Clips + Webbing belt = sturdy belt pouch
The belt is a 2 1/4″ webbing belt, and the ALICE clips fit through 2 of the PALs webbing rows on the back of the pouch, forming belt loops.
I could do the same with a couple of MALICE clips.
So for hunting or every day carry where you don’t need to carry vast amounts of ammunition, something like this is good solution for a belt pouch.
