SKD/Eagle Chest rig modified by Pman — By “Kansas_Kraut” of Hotel23
Let me start out by saying that Politenessman is really good at what he does with this stuff. It seems he was coming up with more ideas for this than I was. Anyway, I’m really impressed with how this thing turned out. Sooo….onward.
A while back I picked up an Eagle/SKD chest rig and immediately had two gripes about it. It sucks to take on and off, and the straps can really rub the shit out of your neck. I contacted P-man about modifying it and he said, why not?
First, a picture of the original:

Now, a picture of the rig without the straps with the mods done to it:

A closeup of the buckles:

I decided on three buckles in the front because, well, I can. Enough about that.
The USP mags I am using are huge, and the flap on the left side of the rig only left a contact patch of about a half inch of velcro to secure them in. P-man had a great solution for this:

He pretty much came up with this on his own and it is solid. Those guys aren’t going anywhere.
The harness/straps/whatever you call it is where he really went above and beyond. I included some stuff that was pretty much junk when I sent this off to him and he came up with this:

The shoulder pads I had sitting around here, but the back piece he fabricated from scratch. There is some 1/4 closed cell foam in there if I am not mistaken. Next thing for me to do is find a pouch that is relatively flat (1-2 in deep) that I can attach there via the webbing. As you can see, this piece unclips from the rig itself, just like the included shoulder straps:

Simple.
Everything assembled:

It is kind of bulky as far as concealment. That’s ok for ^ this ^ setup because I plan on using it over a standalone armor carrier.
And with the original straps. These are a tad less bulky and could be worn under a coat.

He even included a (color matching) American flag on the deal as well as sewing on a piece of velcro to the right flap so I can attach patches. I knew P-man came highly recommended before asking him to do this and I will go ahead and echo those sentiments.
