This is a custom extended saddle with the addition of some new materials which is why I am excited about this one. The normal saddle is short, mainly because I sell mostly to people putting them on mil-surp rifles which tend to have shorter stocks. For a modern shotgun (in this case a Mossberg 500) I have a saddle that is about an inch longer. this fits the stock better, and allows for more ammo – never a bad thing.
Here you can see the seven rounds carried by the saddle. The other exciting change to the saddle is the use of ‘No Slip” fabric on the underside. Now I’ve had no negative feedback regarding saddle slippage, but I like the idea of putting the no slip there, just because – what can I tell you, I have a tendency to over engineer everything!
